Unfriend

From Reader’s Digest, May 2010 Edition

Unfriend is voted as the New Oxford American Dictionary’s word of the year in the US.

Unfriend means to remove someone as a friend from a social networking site.

It also means the detachment in real life from a friend you have fallen out with, or one who’s become dull or annoying.

Sad no? But words only mimic reality, Nik.

Someone "unfriended" me IRL, so I had to really "unfriend" online, else suffer harsh words. It happens. Some friends stay for a season only and for a particular reason.

I've been unfriended in the harshest of manners...but the friends worth keeping are here to stay. :)

Words are just words, but yes, they mimic reality and have such wide implications.

you're right dreamwalker...friends truly worth keeping DO stay. and that's what's important. :)
